Bad Mama

I actually consider it to be a blessing that it has taken as long as it has, but Trey got locked IN the car today! He will be 1 1/2 on the 4th and I am super surprised it has taken this long.

We were at the Y, he was getting in his seat and was grabbing on the keys. I eventually just let them go so he would stop fighting me so hard to get in the seat. I figured "hm, this should distract him". So needless to say during his "playing" time I recon he pushed the lock button. I took the keys away from him cause he kept hitting me in the face with them, and dropped them into the front seat. Next thing I know I am on the outside of the car looking in at him and yanking on the door handles!!!!!

A super nice man and his wife let me use their cell phone and the man even stayed with me till the end! I called 911 and they sent the fire truck to get the door open. I was so worried about getting to my baby that the sirens, lights and crazy fire truck driver did not even phase me! mommies kept walking in and out of the Y saying "I've done it before too, don't feel bad!"

After everything was over I got in the car and started crying like crazy! That is when the guilt and all set in!! If you saw me when Trey got hives the first time, I was panicky and I was a little bit of the same today. I can only imagine I would have been worse had it been hot!

Oh Boy

Oh boy are bad habits hard to break! Trey knows exactly where his pappys are and goes to the drawer to get them. They are up high enough where he can't but he doesn't stop trying! And last night I refused to go in and hold him so he had 2 very good fussing sessions. Praise God they only lasted about 5 minutes or so and then he quietly went back to sleep. I hope tonight is even better!

Trey had a break out again today, not horrible but still not good. He and Jerry were outside picking up pine cones and sticks and a little while after he came in, we saw them poping up.

I am excited about this weekend! I shampooed the living room last night (thanks again Mom & Dad!), Jerry and Trey picked up the yard, we rearanged some rooms in the house, I am babysitting tonight (flash back to 1993) and Mel and I are going to ladies night out at church Sunday night to hear the author of Frazzled Female! What a great weekend!! And to top it all off, my coteacher, Emily starts back Monday!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!

Hive update and bad habits

Yesterday Trey had an appt. with his surgeon and of coarse as we all know, his tummy looks great. I still get tickled when we are at church and he picks up his shirt and points to his belly and says "urgee" (Trey slang for surgery) Then after that we headed over to his primary doctor to see what can be done about his hives. We upped his intake of Zyrtec and Benadryll. So he will now take Zyrtec every night and Benadryll on an as needed basis. So far so good today.

Trey and I stayed home from school today, as he was a major pill and I had serious tummy issues. While I was in the shower he was standing at the shower door screaming this gosh awful scream, in turn, making me feel horrible. I even showered the WHOLE time with the door open so I could talk to him to see if it would help. It would not :( As soon as I got out my tummy started up and he was climbing all over me to be held and loved on. I did this as best as I could in the situation I was in. After that he would not let me put him down (no matter what I was trying to do) with out doing a major fit!

I feel now that I have enabled him to be this way. Since he has had his surgery or "urgee" I have gone above and beyond to do everything in my power to make him happy and comfortable. I have let him have his blankie and pappy as much and as often as he has wanted. When he wakes up at night I go in and hold him and rock him to help him get back to sleep and I have even put him in the bed with us at 4 & 5 o'clock when I just can't do it anymore. I feel like he should be well enough to go back to the "normal" state of life but then he goes and runs fever today and gets sick again. What in the world????

As soon as this is over.... it will go back to the way things used to be!!!!!! AND I CAN"T WAIT!!!

Hives Hives Go Away...

I was so excited when Saturday was over and Trey had not had a break out!!!! Then tonight at church they reappeared!!! BOOOOOO!!!!!!

Another reason Saturday was so super cool is... my husband took me on a date! At almost the last minute, I called my friend Wrennie and her and her husband came and watched Trey for us. We went to eat at Carrabba's and then out shopping! Funny thing is, while we were at the restaurant, we saw Jerry's sister Gina and her hubby Michael (they are from Florence but were in town for the game). They sat with us for a bit and it was so fun getting a few minutes with them.

Also, when Wrennie got to the house, she brought a beautiful blanket that she made for Trey. Jerry's Aunt Marie, made a super cool extra big blanket for Trey when he was born. It is our favorite one to cover him with when he sleeps. It is big enough so when he rolls there is still blanket covering him at all times. I went and bought the same yarn but a different color and Wrennie put it together for us! It is so beautiful. Now I don't have to worry so bad if the other gets dirty. Thank you Wrennie it rocks!!! Thank you also for a great time away and the peace of mind knowing our boy was in good hands!

After this week it was wonderful being able to go out and not stress. We are so thankful that we were able to go out and relax after a yard working day and bad week!! God is so good!

Yesterday's pics

This is one of the better pictures I was able to get of Trey yesterday. Both of his legs and arms looked like this! He had a few around his neck and on his tummy and back. He had about 5-6 on his face and 2 in his hair. Today so far has been all clear!!! Praise God!!!

NEVER EVER ASK.....

NEVER NEVER EVER ASK THE QUESTION "CAN IT GET ANY WORSE?"

The answer will most definitely be YES!!!

After all the fun that we have had, we can add more to it! Last night at church Trey began to break out in hives. We called the dr office and they told us to go to an urgent care place. He was then taken off his 2 antibiotic and told to take benidril (sp?) every 4 hours until morning. We did so and today at 2:00 after we were leaving the grocery store I noticed his legs and arms were covered again. Needless to say, a dr visit was in order. We were able to get in to see the ENT at 4:00. YeHaw

Before the visit, Trey would not sleep so I thought we would just go a little bit early and he could sleep in the car that way I could read in the car before his appt.

But I ended up getting in a wreck on the way so he was woken up and the "extra" time was taken up waiting on a cop etc.

The wreck was not at all horible but still very scary. A lady did an illegal u-turn and I couldn't miss her. Her car was only scratched as was mine.

Then at the visit we found out that the reason he has an ear infection is becaues his BRAND NEW tube is blocked. So now we have to do peroxide treatments followed by his perscription eardrops. As well as he is starting a new antibiotic.

So... like I said, NEVER ASK!!!!

Can it get any worse?

Before and after his surgery.

If you look about an inch or two above his belly on the left picture, you can see the little "button" that is the hernia.

On Wednesday before Trey's surgery I called the surgeon's office. His surgery was scheduled for Thursday morning and we were to be there at 5:30. The papers said if the patient gets a runny nose or any cold like symptoms to call the office. The nurse that I talked to, really made me feel like they wouldn't do the surgery with him being as sick as he was. She said to come to the hospital the next morning and they would check him out to see if it would still be ok to proceed.

5:30 a.m. Thursday morning I jump out of bed and realize I missed my 4:00 alarm. I run though the house panicking and call the hospital to see if they would still let us come. The lady was so nice and said yes please do. I shoved all his stuff into his backpack, brushed my teeth, got dressed, pulled my hair back and after Jerry changed Trey's diaper, Trey & I were out the door. When we got there it was one visit after another and the surgery was on!!!!

I was able to walk with the nurse and the anesthesiologist to the OR door and then had to walk away from my baby. That was SO SUPER HARD!!! I went to the waiting room and made 2 calls after a few tears and a prayer. As soon as the calls were done the ENT came out and said he was already done and it went great. It was amazing how fast it was. A little bit after that my mom-in-law got to the hospital and not too long after that the surgeon was there to tell me the second part was over! The whole process from him leaving me, to the time I was able to go to recovery was less than an hour!!!

When I got to recovery it was quite a sight. Trey was hanging on a nurse like a wet noodle. They had to give him something to calm him down. So I was blessed not to have to see him extra aggitated like they told me I would. I was able to sit in a recliner and hold him for a bit. He was so sweet and lethargic.

After a bit of cuddling, we had to wake him up so we could see if he would drink. They were concerned because, before I got to recovery they offered him a bottle and he would not accept it!! Those of you who don't know, Trey has not had a bottle since he was 6 months old. As soon as he conquered the sippy cup he didn't get bottles anymore. They took the sippy cup I brought and put 9 oz of apple juice in it and it was gone in 2 minutes flat!

His IV was then removed and we were rolled over to the post-op rooms. And 9 more oz. later, were on our way home.

Fast forward to Sunday...
From that time on, he was winny, clingy and wanting his pappy and blankie ALL the time. Then Sunday he would not eat or drink much of anything. And we all know that is not like Trey AT ALL!!!!

Monday morning I called the dr. and we went in to find out that.....
He has a sinus infection, EAR INFECTION!!! and very likely strep!!!!!! Bless his poor heart!!

So he is now on an extra antibiotic (he has ear drops also) and hopefully will be feeling better by this afternoon (24 hours after his first dose).

Thank you so much for all the support we have been given!! I'm sure you all know how good it does a mommy's heart to know people love her baby so much . Thank you Emily for the dinner Thursday night and to everyone who called. We would also like to thank each of you for the prayers. We love each of you dearly.
